Turn the Corner with Night Rainbow!

Turn the Corner with Night Rainbow!

My Latest Pattern, Turn the Corner, made with Night Rainbow by Deborah Fisher!

A few months ago, Deborah Fisher, @fishmuseaum put out a call on Instagram for collaborators to mock up patterns with her new collection, Night Rainbow! I contacted her and sent in a mockup with her collection. I was one of the lucky ones who was selected and I received a free FQ bundle to make my quilt pattern!

Check out this video of my unboxing!

The pattern I designed, Turn the Corner, is a tongue in cheek name for a simple drunkards path, block based pattern. The blocks are large 9" blocks that are easy to sew. The additional feature is the snowball corner on each block!

I chose to longarm quilt Turn the Corner with the pantograph Late Night Grande by Quilting Creations. I thought that this pantograph was the perfect fit for Night Rainbow! It looks like fireworks that create a Night Rainbow!

I wanted to make a quilt pattern that was more masculine in colouring and the collection, Night Rainbow, is perfect for this! I end up donating a lot of my test quilts to a local charity called Blankets of Love. I am on the board for this charity and we collect quilts for people who are currently patients at mental institutions and at hospitals. We want these patients to know that there is someone out there who is thinking about them. We receive a lot of feminine type quilts but masculine type quilts are few and far between. The Night Rainbow collection has a great array of patterns and colours that complement a more masculine style quilt.

If you are looking for a darker collection that still has lots of vibrant colour, then Night Rainbow from Windham Fabrics may be for you! Check your local quilt shop for this amazing collection and if they don't carry it, ask them if they could get it in!

Happy Sewing!
