Audrey Hepburn

❤❤❤I absolutely adore this project!
Allow me to introduce you to the Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's quilt.
It's a fabulous Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) design from the talented folks over at @prideandjoyquilting. At first glance, it might seem a bit intimidating, but believe me, the most challenging part was getting those perfect pictures!
Now, Audrey proudly hangs right in front of my sewing machine. Whenever I'm in the zone, stitching away, I can't help but look to her for inspiration. She's my steadfast sewing buddy, silently encouraging me with every stitch, and she's definitely not one to pass judgment!
When I actually finished this beauty , there was a moment of hesitation about whether I should attempt to quilt it. But then I thought, why not give it a shot? After all, I can 'easily' whip up another one, right? 😉 So, I took the plunge and quilted it with a striking Cathedral Windows pattern, using Glide Flint thread. After the quilting was done, I gave it a good wash and tumble-dry to shrink the cotton and, well, let's say 'perfect' a few minor hiccups along the way.
Here's the exciting part—Audrey made her debut at our City Fair, Klondike Days, and she didn't just participate; she took home the crown for Best in Category and Best in Section! I also entered her in a local Quilt Fair, and guess what? She won the hearts of the crowd, bagging the Fan Favorite award!
Now, I'm quite smitten with the wrinkly, lived-in look that Audrey sports. It gives her such charming character, don't you think?
